Simply put, the U.S. is falling behind other developed countries on a number of measures associated with access, transition, and completion of college. Issues associated with access to college-prep curriculum at the K-12 level; the adequacy of higher education infrastructure, economic and financial aid; and the equitable distribution of information about college are at the center of the current debate.
